Fern Mt Field – luxe cottage accommodation located at Tyenna, Tasmania.

Image Gallery of Fern Mt Field Accommodation showing;
- Tyenna River rapids, image taken from the Tyenna Road bridge located 750 metres from the cottage accommodation.
- Western side of the accommodation, showing outdoor bath, shower, outdoor dining area and two original brick chimneys. One of these is still in use, catering for the open fire in the lounge area.
- Stone outdoor bath located on the back patio of the cottage, with French doors opening from the master bedroom. A row of large man ferns and other plants line the edge of this undercover patio area.
- Clear water rockpools in the Humboldt River and its fern-lined banks. This river joins the Tyenna River just a few hundred metres from the house and the Humboldt Power Station is located just before this junction. This small hydro power station is housed within an attractive stone building and provides a clean energy source for the surrounding communities.
- View from the galley kitchen out the main door and onto the adjoining deck. This self-contained accommodation has a well-equipped kitchen including a five burner stove, oven and all utensils required to prepare and serve a delicious meal.
- Plants protruding through the centre of the front deck, which was deliberately built around these tree ferns during the renovation.
- The indoor shower with caramel tiled walls, image taken from outside the house through the opening external windows. Most items in the house are recycled, however some modern elements have included in the renovation and these are sensitive to the home’s depression-era heritage
- One of three bedrooms in this group accommodation, styled with art-deco and mid-century furniture and indoor plants. The cottage sleeps up to six people in three queen beds.
- View from the rear of the cottage, looking past the pink flowering rhododendron down to the back patio and outdoor bath.
- View from the back of the block, looking down the hill to the cottage accommodation with a backdrop of rainforest and the mountains beyond.
- The kitchen in the accommodation has a blackheart sassafras benchtop, oven, stove and rangehood with brown tiled splashback and pots handing from a sassafras shelf.
- View of the front deck, looking down the side of the cottage from the laundry and second outdoor toilet.
- Full self contained kitchen with large fridge, stove, oven and pantry storage.
- Pink rhododendrons in full bloom.
- Outdoor shower and outdoor bath with second outdoor dining area beneath the tree ferns and garden behind.
- Antique writing desk and mirror in one of the bedrooms.
- People walking along the old Tyenna railway trail which runs alongside the Tyenna River.
- View from the lounge looking down the hallway.
- A pathway through the trees and native grasses leading to Tyenna River a swimming spot amongst the rockpools.
- View looking through the spacious indoor show and bathroom to the hallway, with local artworks adorning the walls.

- Tree fern on the opposite bank of the Tyenna River with rapids in the foreground. The Tyenna River is made up of large slow-moving pools and shallower sections of river stones and rocky rapids. This river is popular for fly fishing, however we like to enjoy cold water plunges in the rockpools.
- View down the hallway looking back at the open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen.
- Shot of the kitchen taken in the mirror of a dresser, showing pots, pans and utensils.
- A deep, quiet pool in the Tyenna River looking downstream. Tall ancient trees line the river banks.
- Fern Mt Field cottage looking up the tree-lined driveway from Tyenna Road. This cottage accommodation is the second-last house on this road, which sees very little traffic and making the location very quiet and peaceful.
- View of the galley kitchen and dining table from the front door.
- French doors open from the master bedroom onto the back patio which is lined with man ferns.
- Image from the rear of the cottage, showing trees in the garden and the back patio and one of two outdoor dining areas.
